How to: Once you decide on a certain menu to cook for dinner, mince the vegetables or prepare all your sauces using measuring spoons and cups. Keep the ingredients in containers labeled store for quick access.

2. Master Basic Knife Skills:

Why you need it: Good knife skills add efficiency and safety.

How to: Get the Basic Cuts- Dice, Slice, Chop, and Julienne Any good knife will do, but a great quality chef's knife that is sharpened regularly makes your time in the kitchen so much easier on yourself. Practice makes perfect!
